Yep - I've done TAM too! I can totally relate. ;) I've tried other dance cardio & sculpting based workouts (my favorite method overall), BBG, Ballet Beautiful, pilates, yoga, barre, P57, running/sprinting, heavy weights, light weights, rebounding, Spinning, plyos, bootcamps, kickboxing, etc... Basically a lot of different workouts for me over the last 25+ years! I try to stick with one overall method for a solid period of time (usually 6 months+) to see how it works for me. I always mix in walks, yoga, and Essentrics (dynamic stretch program which is really great for injury prevention and mobility).
I truly respect everyone has a different preference/goal re: workouts and results. For me - I know I can't do heavy weights, BBG, sprint training, squats/lunges, and lots of plyos because I literally get like the Hulk! My lower half bulks up regardless of super clean eating. I tried cutting meat (I typically eat chicken, salmon, eggs, and very little red meat) and found myself getting lightheaded and feeling very 'off'. I feel I'm at a very good place eating wise... probably the healthiest and most balanced I've ever been before. I just need to make sure my workout is helping me reach my fitness goals and not working against me. Honestly, my overall goal is to be healthy and strong to live a long happy life with my family. If I could slim down and lean out my lower half that would be an awesome bonus! :)
